Badugi ~ A beginning of minimizing hysteria surrounding Speed Texas Holdem

Badugi Poker is growing fast like the Speed Texas Holdem in its early days, but until the craze and madness surrounding Speed Texas Holdem dies down, there is not much scope for Badugi yet. Now-a-days Badugi has been given a bit more coverage to see how everyone get familiarized to the online badugi game which is favourite in Asia.

Badugi Poker was originated in Korea. This game requires the player to think a lot more than in usual lowball poker game because instead of one there are three draws and also for the off-suit nature of the game. Almost a year or two earlier, no one outside Asia (except Korea) knew about Badugi, Badugi cards or badugi rules. In some online poker sites as well as some poker room in California, this game has really picked up. I have played as low as $0.05/$0.10 limit and as high as $100/$200 blinds in online casinos. I have heard that some casinos in Las Vegas offer Badugi as a part of their high limit mixed games.

You can say it a drawing poker game too, as players get many chances to exchange the cards for new ones. After each betting rounds you can draw cards. Also the structure is based on the game such as limit, pot limit or half-pot limit. Ofcourse as I mentioned earlier in my blog, the best hands are the low hands.
